About Bude Metric Brass Band
Bude Metric Brass was formed in 2003 by a group of like-minded brass musicians who wished to pursue their hobby in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, playing challenging and stimulating music of mutual choice.
The band plays for its own pleasure and for the enjoyment of others, supporting local charities, organisations and businesses.
2026 marks a significant new chapter for Bude Metric Brass.
After leading the band since its formation in 2003, our conductor, Colin Gay, has stepped aside from his role and we are delighted to welcome Jim Vincent as our new conductor.
Colin remains very much a part of Bude Metric Brass, having taken a seat in the trombone section. He can also still be seen at the front of the band from time to time, conducting when Jim is unavailable.
We look forward to this exciting new chapter while continuing the friendly, relaxed spirit that has been at the heart of Bude Metric Brass since the very beginning.
Described as “One of the best entertainment brass bands in north Cornwall, able to tackle anything from simple hymns and marches, to popular music, complex overtures, and big band sounds.” They have a wide repertoire that appeals to all ages, and will tailor their programme to suit the audience.
